Anti-wrinkle treatments target areas of facial muscle hyperactivity, where repetitive contraction contributes to the formation of lines and creasing in the skin. By carefully reducing this activity, we are able to soften existing lines and help delay the progression of static wrinkles.Rather than filling or changing facial structure, they work by gently relaxing specific muscles responsible for expression lines. In selected cases, treatment may also create a subtle lifting effect. This is achieved through the strategic relaxation of specific depressor muscles, allowing opposing elevator muscles to function more effectively, restoring balance and soft definition to the face and neck.

Following a detailed facial assessment and bespoke treatment plan, anti-wrinkle injections are precisely administered using an ultra-fine needle to carefully targeted muscles. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and sterilised before treatment to maintain the highest standards of clinical safety. Once your treatment is complete, you will receive comprehensive aftercare advice and guidance to optimise your results and support a smooth recovery.
Results can be seen soon after treatment, most people start to see visible effects after three days, three weeks the maximum effects can be seen, and retreatment is advised every 3-6 months.
Although antiaging treatments are currently unregulated in the UK meaning that any aesthetic practitioner can perform them, here at Skin Lab Surrey you will only ever be treated by a fully trained and experienced registered medical professional.
There are a few things that you can do to help ensure that your skin is ready for your treatment. This includes not drinking alcohol for 2-3 days prior to your appointment, this helps to lessen your risk of bleeding and bruising. It is also advised that you avoid ibuprofen and aspirin for 1 week prior to your appointment as these can all thin your blood making bruising more likely.
Bruising and swelling post treatment is always going to be a risk and where you can take steps to avoid these, you should always be aware that it could still occur if you are prone to bruising.
Please ensure you arrive to your appointment with a clean face and avoid makeup if possible.
After Botox, patients will typically experience some small raised red bumps for 30-60 minutes after treatment, with the potential for mild tenderness in the treated sight for a couple of days. Bruising as discussed above is also a risk.
