Intense pulsed light therapy uses controlled bursts of light energy to gently heat the skin’s surface. This process triggers the body’s natural healing response, stimulating collagen and elastin. In time, regeneration improves texture, evens skin tone and reduces visible signs of age or sun damage.
The result is smoother, clearer and more radiant skin.
We use the IPL M22 Stellar system to administer this treatment.
Unlike laser treatments that use single focused wavelengths, IPL can deliver multiple wavelengths of light in quicker pulses. These light waves target pigment irregularities, redness and blood vessels under the skin’s surface, but without harming surrounding tissue.
Because of its versatility, IPL M22 Stellar addresses different skin concerns inside one session, from pigmentation and sunspots to acne, rosacea and broken capillaries.
During treatment, clients experience only a mild warming or tingling sensation. There is minimal discomfort and no downtime is required.
You can return to your usual activities right away.
For rosacea, IPL targets oxyhaemoglobin in blood vessels that cause redness. The heat generated breaks down tiny capillaries, reducing signs of flushing and improving your overall skin tone.
Depending on your skin type and the condition being treated, several sessions may be needed to achieve optimal, long-lasting results.
Following an IPL session, the skin may feel slightly warm or flushed for a few hours. It is important to avoid direct sunlight and apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily. Refrain from using harsh exfoliants or active skincare products (like retinol or acids) for 48 hours.
Keeping the skin cool and hydrated will help speed up recovery and enhance your results.
IPL is considered safe when performed by trained professionals. Mild redness, swelling or temporary darkening of pigmentation may occur but typically subsides within a few days. Rarely, small crusts or flaking may appear as the skin renews itself.
Always follow your practitioner’s guidance for the best outcome and to minimise any potential irritation.
